Economic business game "Family budget: a penny saves the hryvnia"
The All-Ukrainian Finance Week has been held in November since 2013 in partnership with educational institutions, public authorities, line ministries, financial and commercial institutions, public associations, foreign and national agencies. Since 2013, about 50,000 Ukrainians of all ages and social status have been covered by the Finance Week in Ukraine every year.
The key topics of the project include savings and prudent financial behavior, life planning, rational accounting of personal or family budget.
Introducing the idea of annual celebration and popularization of the All-Ukrainian Week of Finance, our school joins in participating in educational activities aimed at forming in young people modern principles of attitude to money and making sound financial decisions. Therefore, our teachers invited college students to join such educational events and take part in an interesting event.
On November 8, 2018, teachers Bulakh II and Szymanska OV held an economic business game "Family budget: a penny saves the hryvnia" with students of the F-28 group.
The purpose of the open event was to expand students' knowledge of income, sources of income and ways of use; development of the ability to work in a group; education of diligence, organization, ability to make choices; encouraging prudent and conscious behavior of young people in personal finance; fostering the habit of saving and saving, informing about the principles of saving and financial planning at all stages of life.
The student group was asked to split into two teams – the Golda family and the Economist family. To become real experts in their families and learn to plan a family budget, the teams were offered interesting tasks, exercises, competitions, puzzles, riddles, solving which students received not only valuable knowledge but also pleasant surprises. Participants, performing economic exercises and various tasks, collected clues, which became a guess at the economic concept, which is a key theme of the business game. For each correctly and quickly completed task, the team received points in the form of a monetary reward, based on the results of the amount of funds raised, the winning team was determined. During the business game, student families showed strong economic knowledge, showed their abilities, became friendlier and earned money, replenished their family budget. The "Economy" family earned the most money and received the title of "The Most Economical Family" and won the game.
After the interesting contests students received from their teachers and mentors five golden rules of the common household budget and very useful advice: "Pam" Yatai: Try to be smart, not rich: wealth can be removed, and the mind will always be with you! "
The organizers of the open event are convinced that the knowledge gained and consolidated during the implementation of interesting tasks will contribute to future financial security, give students confidence in making decisions about managing their savings and family budget.
