This year Ukraine celebrated the 205th anniversary of the birth of our compatriot Taras Shevchenko. This event was dedicated to the event "Taras Shevchenko. Creativity of the period of exile ", which was conducted on March 12 with students of groups 11 and 13 of the department of general education by LI Tovstenko and VV Dzhumyga.
Students rediscovered the Great Kobzar not only as a poet but also as an artist, because the event was organized not traditionally: it was a kind of creative and intellectual show, where participants tried themselves in different roles – biographers, geographers and literary critics. , and historians.
Each message aroused the interest of students from other groups, there was a lively discussion, supplementing what was heard. Reproductions of Taras Shevchenko's paintings, his poetry, beautifully recited by students, and fragments of the film served as a support for most of the comments. Such work allowed to bring Taras Shevchenko closer to the students, to make him, as the participant said, "understandable, native".
The event became significant also because it revealed the unchanging essence of the Ukrainian mentality of the XIX century. and the 21st century: both Taras Shevchenko and Oleg Sentsov, being under the "all-seeing eye" of Russian totalitarianism, created and are creating Ukrainian culture.
