"AND MEMORY IS SACRED…"
On October 30, 2019, library staff L. Angarska, G. Zhulinska, teacher V. Burlaka conducted a library lesson "And the memory is sacred" to the 75th anniversary of the expulsion of the Nazi occupiers from Ukraine. Invited veterans of the city, reserve colonels: Andriy Petrovich Polishchuk, Viktor Serhiyovych Kimlach, Mykhailo Mefodiyovych Kyslenko, as well as: Petro Leonidovych Beneskul – Deputy Director for Educational Work; Alexander Ivanovich Bezsmertny – the chairman of city council of veterans, Nikolay Nikiforovich Besarab – the colonel of a reserve, the methodologist of a methodical office, teachers VV Derkach, Yu.M. Korzh, SV Zintsova, students of groups 11,12,13.
On this day, we bow our heads in memory of the fallen liberators and pay homage to the living participants of those heroic events. The feat of our veterans is a standard of courage, patriotism, strength of will and justice. We keep the true history of the great victory of our people, because it is a solid foundation for the unity of future generations. With great pain and longing in our minds and hearts will long remain the names of the defenders of the mother – Ukraine, patriots of their land, real heroes – these are our compatriots, including graduates of our school.
Students of group 13 D. Korchagin, O. Mytnyk, J. Kramarenko, V. Maksymchuk were imbued with a sense of pride and respect for our veterans, reciting poems, which caused a stingy male tear of the hero-soldier.
Oleksandr Ivanovych Bezsmertnyi, Chairman of the City Council of Veterans, spoke about the military feat of the people of Uman during World War II: OI Radzievsky, AA Shinder. Ten Heroes of the Soviet Union were from the villages of Uman district.
The people of Uman are proud of their compatriots-commanders: ID Chernyakhovsky – the village of Oksanino, IO Radzievsky – the city of Uman, KM Derevyanko – the village of Kosenivka, who on behalf of the government signed the act of capitulation of Japan on September 2, 1945 on the American battleship "Missouri".
P. Beneskul addressed the guests with a welcoming speech, wishing the veterans happiness, well-being, health, optimism, cheerfulness and active longevity. At the end of the event, L. Mushkevych sang N. Buchynska's song "Victory, Holy Victory" as a gift to the gray-haired "young men".
